RoboLab is an open group of students and faculty at Bucknell University who share an interest for the multidisciplinary field of Human-Robot Interaction (HRI). This site serves as an organizational resource for the group and will be used to share the schedule of our meetings, our membership list, and pointers to all sorts of material of interest to the group.
In the Fall 2024 semester, RoboLab has been meeting every other week in Breakiron 166. Everyone is invited to participate – one can come in the last minute or send me an email if they want to be added to calendar invitations. Every one of our meetings is fueled by refreshments kindly funded by the College of Engineering.
The structure of each specific meeting varies with people’s interests, but in general, we have explored readings in HRI, robotics, and robophilosophy, as well as pop culture material. Since HRI is inherently multidisciplinary, our topics will fall in the spectrum ranging from the humanities and social sciences (philosophy, psychology, cultural anthropology, sociology, etc.) to technical (engineering, computer science, physics, etc.). No one needs to have prior knowledge in any of our topics. What is important that we bring good energy and curiosity to make our time together productive and fun.
The point of contact for this group’s organization and maintainer of this site is Prof. L. Felipe Perrone. Direct any questions, suggestions, and requests to perrone@bucknell.edu.
